OTHA-2026 was held in Rostov-on-Don From August 23 to 28, 2026 at Southern Federal University. The conference covered a wide range of interconnected areas in pure and applied mathematics, organized into four main sections.
Around 100 research talks, including 27 plenary lectures were delivered. Participants were researchers and young scientists from various Russian universities, and several foreign countries (Belarus, Serbia, Armenia, Algeria, Syria, Pakistan, Ecuador, Palestine, Colombia, Mexico, and China).
The conference was dedicated to the 85th birthday of the prominent mathematician, Professor Stefan Grigorievich Samko.
Professor Samko's academic career has been closely linked to Rostov-on-Don. Until 1994, he served as Dean of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, Head of the Department, and Chairman of the Dissertation Council at Rostov State University (now Southern Federal University). After moving to Portugal and joining the University of Algarve (Faro), he has maintained strong professional ties with his colleagues and continues to actively collaborate with mathematicians at Southern Federal University.
Selected papers from OTHA‑2026 will be considered for publication in the special issue of the Journal of Mathematical Sciences. It will feature contributions in operator theory, function spaces, approximation theory, and general and harmonic analysis – the areas to which the honoree has made his most significant contributions.
