Modern Methods, Problems and Applications of Operator Theory and Harmonic Analysis

At a seminar hosted by the Department of Mathematics at the University of Perugia (Università degli Studi di Perugia), reports were presented on recent research in the fields of functional analysis and partial differential equations. In particular, Alexey Karapetyants gave a lecture on a new approach to the grandization of spaces (aggrandization) used in solving problems of mathematical physics. While this subject relates to research conducted by Italian colleagues, the proposed approach is distinct and new. Vladislav Kravchenko presented a new, efficient method for solving inverse coefficient problems that he has been developing. Potential directions for future scientific cooperation were also discussed.
